Using self-hypnosis to alleviate Tourette's syndrome helped the majority of children in a new study published in the Journal of Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics.
Thirty-three children ages 6 to 19 years old suffering from Tourette's were taught how to use self-hypnosis and relaxation techniques as a way of controlling their involuntary tics such as blinking, coughing, yelling and head jerking. Twelve children had dramatic improvements after just two training sessions, and 13 had similar results after three visits.
