Dr. Hein Raat and his colleagues have previously discovered that teens often play their devices at highest volume, unaware that this practice can cause permanent hearing loss.
One tip for parents and teens is to use over-the-ear headphones, not in-ear styles, which can result in greater exposure to high volumes.
