Even though it's simple, listening takes time and effort, things that most of us are short on these days. So practice this coming week. Whenever you can, drop everything when your children have something to say, no matter their age. Use eye contact and your full attention to communicate that nothing is more important at that moment.Taking time to listen at the end of the day, just before bedtime, can create special moments between you and your child. It shows your children that you care about what's going on in their lives, and that they matter enough for you to set time aside just for them. Source: NewsSentinel (Knoxville, TN)
Listen with quiet enthusiasm, concentrate on what they are saying, and most importantly, listen more than you talk.
