Tips For Bad Report Cards

Most parents and teens have very different views of school. Parents view it as a place for their child to learn and excel academically. Most teens view it as a place to socialize. It's important to take this difference into consideration when dealing with a "less than exciting" report card.

Tips include taking into account not just grades but attendance and conduct in classes, not over-reacting by handing out a punishment that's too harsh, and giving your child manageable goals for improving his grades.
