TheEagle.com reports that a study in the April issue of the Journal of Pediatrics found that teenagers who engaged in physical activities during the summer stayed out of troubled with drugs and alcohol. While it's really common sense, no previous concrete evidence existed showing the link between a sedentary lifestyle and risky behavior in teens. Researchers found that 7th-11th graders who participated in sports, especially ones that included parental involvement. In contrast, teens that spend most of their time watching TV or playing video games tend to engage in more risky behaviors.
