AR Girls Urged to Study Engineering
At Hold Middle School in Arkansas, 6th and 7th grade girls in the gifted and talented program took place in activities designed to introduce girls to the field of engineering. “Charlotte Earwood, project/program manager for the College of Education, said the event is designed to encourage girls to take an interest in the fields of science, technology, engineering and math.” Since women are minorities in the fields of science and math, girls that like solving problems and discovering new things are being encouraged to look at engineering.
