LJWorld.com published a list of resolutions that focus on strengthening the sometimes strained relationship between teenagers and their parents. As adolescents and their parents struggle to understand each other and their behaviors, these resolutions might help ease tensions between the generations. Listed below are just a few of the resolutions offered by Dr. Wes Crenshaw, a board-certified family psychologist and Marissa Ballard, a high school senior in Lawrence, Kansas.
For parents:
Resolve to find balance in your approach to parenting. The fundamental dilemma of parenting is how much to push versus how much to hold your teen. Resolve to take your relationship with your kids seriously, whatever their ages.
For the teenagers:
Resolve to make more time for your family. Resolve to get good education.
